Biography

Luiz Coelho was born Luiz Carlos Teixeira Coelho, in 05/10/1927, in Niterói, Brazil. Son of José and Sara, he has always presented an intrinsic talent for drawing and painting. As a youngster, he has followed the drawing and painting course, offered by the Portuguese Literary High School, having finished it in the third place.
Later, he has pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Drawing, at the School of Fine Arts of the Rio de Janeiro Federal University.
Since then, he had worked as a graphic designer at the Brazilian National Print Service (for thirty five years), and as a drawing and geometry teacher for the Brazilian Industry Support Service. As a free lancer, he also had performed several graphic works for many Publishing Houses, and had left a considerable number of paintings.
He has died in 09/01/1990, leaving two children: Jacqueline and Luiz Coelho (junior).

Luiz Coelho nasceu Luiz Carlos Teixeira Coelho, em 10/05/1927, em Niterói, Brasil. Filho de José e Sara, ele sempre apresentou um talento intrínseco para o desenho e a pintura. Ainda jovem, fez o curso de desenho e pintura do Liceu Literário Português, terminando-o na terceira posição.
Mais tarde, ele terminou o Bacharelado em Desenho, pela Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
A partir daí, ele trabalhou como desenhista gráfico para a Imprensa Nacional (por trinta e cinco anos), e como professor de desenho e geometria no Serviço Nacional de Apoio à Indústria. Como free lancer, realizou diversos trabalhos gráficos para Editoras, e deixou um número considerável de pinturas.
Ele veio a falecer em 01/09/1990, deixando dois filhos: Jacqueline e Luiz Coelho (filho).
